Hello! My name is Amelia and I have had dogs for seven years and cats for over fifteen years. I also have raised and cared for both chickens and peafowl alike for roughly thirteen years. I have been working as a veterinary technician for over two years and am now opening my schedule to take care of pets beyond the clinic.
Whether you need someone reliable to look over your pets while you are gone or if you need help with medication administration, I am here to help! March 2024-Current
Jordan Creek Animal Hospital
My current employment in veterinary medicine as the Pharmacy Veterinary Technician at JCAH. I work with client requests/communications as well as other normal veterinary technician duties.
June 2023-Aug 2023
Lake Superior Zoo (internship)
Worked with exotics from blood draws to anesthesia up in the beautiful area of Duluth. Assisted in veterinary technician skills and worked with a range of different species.
July 2022-April 2023

Prairie View Animal Hospital
Trained to properly restrain and work with dogs/cats in a clinical environment.

Des Moines Area Community College
This is where I completed my two year degree in Veterinary Technology. It was a tough but rewarding experience to learn hands on skills like venipuncture, radiology, animal nursing, and husbandry. I was also licensed as a veterinary technician shortly after completely the program by sitting for my National Veterinary Technician Boards and my Iowa Boards.
2020-2022
Iowa State University
This is where I completed my four year degree with a Bachelor's in Animal Science with Pre-Vet Prerequisites in Ames, IA. I was the top of my class in all the agricultural and companion animal courses.
2018-2020
Des Moines Area Community College
This is where I completed my two year degree with an Associates in Science to which I could transfer to Iowa State University to finish my degree.
